SYNLETT is an international journal reporting research results and trends in synthetic organic chemistry in short personalized reviews and preliminary communications. It covers all fields of scientific endeavor that involve organic synthesis. SYNLETT is characterized by a fast and rigorous refereeing system and publication times of 3 months as well as its flexible format for Letters (no 2- or 4-page straitjacket).

SYNLETT will be published 20 times in 2007 and is also listed in the most important databases: Current Contents/Physical, Chemical and Earth Sciences, Chemical Abstracts, Science Citation Index, Research Alert, Scisearch, Index Chemicus, Chemistry Citation Index, Current Chemical Reactions, Reaction Citation Index, and Biological Abstracts.

SYNLETT offers the following special features to the reader:

    are personalized reviews about important recent work of individual research groups.

    are collections of Letters on rapidly evolving topics in designated ares of research.

ACS Awards for
Bernd Giese and
Hisashi Yamamoto

We would like to congratulate two of our SYNLETT Editors: Hisashi Yamamoto, who is being awarded the ACS Award for Creative Work in Synthetic Organic Chemistry 2009 and Bernd Giese, who is the recipient of the James Flack Norris Award in Physical Organic Chemistry 2009. Both awards will be presented in March 2009 at the 237th ACS National Meeting in Salt Lake City.
